Dusty currently plays for the Phoenix Coyotes (NHL) AA affiliate, The Arizona Sun Dogs in the Central Hockey League. His love and passion for the game of hockey started at the age of 4. He practiced and played out of Desert Youth Hockey Association located in Tempe, Arizona. Throughout his youth hockey years, he was chosen to play for many AAA teams. To name a few, this includes Team Northwest and the North American Select All Star team, which participated in Europe and he achieved the title as leading scorer.
Dusty was the Phoenix Polar Bears’ Rookie of the Year after averaging just over a point a game with 22 goals and 13 assists in 33 games...was a 2001 Western States Hockey League All-Star...played in USA Hockey’s Select 16 Festival. He was a member of the U.S. National Under-17 & 18 Team based out of Ann Arbor,Michigan where he and his teammates won a gold medal at the 2002 World Under-17 Challenge in Winnipeg. He was one of six players to compete in all 63 games...had one assist in nine international games and totaled six goals and nine assists against domestic teams...finished the season with one game-winning goal and one power-play goal. He was drafted from Northern Michigan University (CCHA) by Tampa Bay Lightning in the 5 round (163 overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
