How do I receive a refund if my child cannot attend camp after the deposit has already been paid?
The deposit is non-refundable ($150). i.e. - if you were to pay the whole camp fee of ($375) you would be reimbursed ($225).
What type of payment method do you accept?
We will be accepting CHECKS ONLY, must be made out to Collins Sports Enterprises
Do I need to check in or check out?
Yes, CHECK IN is mandatory on the first day of camp. Please go to www.collinshockeycamps.com and click the schedule tab and look under your child’s age division to find his/her check in time.
What do I bring to check in?
Remainder of camp fee. Must be paid in full before your child can step on the ice or receive instruction.
bring the Consent to Treat and Release of Liability forms IF they have not been sent out and RECIEVED PRIOR to camp. Deadline for mailing in these forms is June 14th 2008.
CHC must have them on file by this date.
Where do I go if I have questions during the week of camp?
There will be an off-ice staff member available during the week of camp that will be around to answer any questions that you may have. Contact information for staff member will be give at check in.
How many children are in each age group?
There are roughly 30 skaters per group.
How should my child prepare prior to the camp?
Bring a great work ethic and positive attitude!
What if my child gets hurt during the camp and I am not there?
The off-ice staff member will immediately contact the parent or guardian to report the incident.
What if my child needs his/her skates sharpened, or a piece of equipment. Where should I go that’s nearby?
A pro shop is located directly inside of Oceanside Ice Arena that will be available for skate sharpening or any other special equipment needs.
Will I be provided with a hockey jersey?
Yes, your child will be provided with a jersey upon check in.
What if my child needs to take medication at a certain time during the camp?
Any medication your child needs must be administered by the parent or guardian. Staff and instructors are not responsible for distribution of medication. If medication needs to be administered during on or off ice instruction please inform a staff member.

Is lunch or snacks provided at all during the day of camp?
Parents must provide their child with a lunch/snack and or refreshment for during the day, a 30 minute break is given between on ice and off ice instruction (see schedule).
Is there a concession stand that is available for my child at this ice rink?
Yes, a concession stand is located inside Oceansie Ice Arena, however please check with or call the arena to verify the concession hours. If unsure please pack a lunch/snack for your child.

Are parents and family allowed to watch the on ice and off ice instruction?
Yes, families are more than welcome to view their child’s week of camp!
What does off ice instruction involve?

How early does my child need to be there before the camp starts each day?
It is required to be there NO LATER than 30 minutes before the first session.
Will someone be there to assist my child in tying their skates or getting dressed for on ice instruction?
Yes, there will be instructor(s) or staff members in the locker room if needed to tie skates and help with equipment.
What does my child need to bring to camp?
Parents should provide their child with money for concession stands or pro shop.

What equipment does my child need to have other than the basic hockey gear?
For off ice instruction you will need:
- Tennis Shoes (very important)
- Work out Shorts
- Work out Shirt
- Water bottle
For on ice instruction you will need:
- All required hockey gear
Should my child’s name be on his/her helmet?
Yes, please be sure to have your child’s FIRST name on the front of their helmet.
What is done with my child’s equipment when they are not on the ice?
Each age group will be assigned a locker room. That will be locked up when players are not in the locker room. However, upon the conclusion of EACH day, players are responsible for taking ALL of their equipment with them.
What if I am unable to pick up my child on time from the rink?
Please inform an off ice staff member upon dropping off your child if you will be late to pick them up. You will be allowed a 15 minute grace period. Every 15 minutes thereafter you will be charged $25 dollars for inconvenience fees.
What if my child loses equipment in the locker room?
There will be a lost and found bin, see an off ice staff member for assistance. However CHC staff members are NOT responsible for any lost or stolen items. Please remind your child to keep his/her belongings together. Things can easily fall into a neighbor’s bag or get mixed into someone else’s equipment on accident.
Is there an emergency contact number to contact a staff member of CHC if needed?
Yes, an emergency contact phone number is given during check in. All calls can be made to this number if any questions or concerns arise during the week of camp.
